Speaker Bio
Kelly Goris is a Regulatory Toxicologist and Safety Assessor at The Regulatory Company (TRC). Over more than a decade, as a regulatory expert and cosmetic safety assessor she has evaluated products across a wide range of categories, from skincare and haircare to more specialised formulations such as hair dyes. Her day-to-day work spans the management of Product Information Files (PIFs), product safety evaluations, ingredient reviews, and interpretation of evolving regulatory requirements. She also advises clients on the practical implementation of EU, UK, US and Canadian cosmetics legislation.

Overarchingly, she is also executive of the Responsible Person role on behalf of TRC. In this role she is directly accountable for ensuring that product claims are substantiated, verifying that supporting evidence is scientifically robust and legally acceptable, and defending product's regulatory dossier before competent authorities. She also oversees the work carried out in PRIMS, TRC's proprietary software used by the company and its brand partners for compliance and safety management.

Kelly holds a Master’s in Toxicology and Environmental Health from Utrecht University (IRAS), together with professional certifications in cosmetic safety assessment and environmental safety from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Her regulatory expertise is grounded in her experience as a GLP Study Director in environmental toxicology and as the founder of a cosmetics start-up. Her experience spans both the scientific and commercial sides of product development, giving her first-hand insight into how brands navigate formulation, safety and claims decisions long before a product reaches the RP’s desk.

She is an active member of the European Responsible Person Association (ERPA), contributing her expertise to, for instance, the European Commission’s Working Group on Cosmetic Products.
